I changed the rear dif oil on my SS this weekend. I pulled the cover and let it drain. I filled the axle up through the fill hole in the diff cover and it took 3 quarts to top it off :wtf:. Does this sound even remotely correct or have I overfilled the diff? I have a G80 in my other Trailblazer and it takes only two quarts.

Thx. I did have a little left over on quart 3 so 2.75 is probably 100% right. Just wanted to verify.

What's your other TB? If it's not an SS, it's got a different fluid amount. SWB I6s: 8" rear only take ~2 qts. LWB I6s, 5.3 V8s: 8.6": somewhere around 2-2.5 qts. SS/Aero: ~3 qts.
Other TrailBlazer is a 3LT 5.3 with a G80 rear axle. It just freaked me out a bit that the SS G86 axle took more than 2 quarts. My stock of gear lube was depleted
