Power seat motor issues

Question for you guys I really need input ASAP. Seems like my horizontal adjustment motor for my drivers seat failed, all other adjustments work. I took it to the dealer to have it done quick since it failed in the all the way back position and its uncomfortable for my wife to drive it. Well the dealer wants 850 bucks for the motor and install and when I asked him what the different was between his and the 75 OE replacements I found online all I got was "because its custom made for you car" and "you drive a vette with rear seats, everything is expensive for it". So is it just me or is this dealer full of it??? 2007 SS here btw.

Lol! I guess the part that I'm confused with is that my SS has the seat adjustment memory feature. The motors I see online say "W/O memory" but I think the memory feature is a module separate from the motor and seems like IR works, when I press 1 and 2 on the door, the seat angle changes and the back recline changes just not the horizontal adjustment.

Maybe try a different dealer. That's kind of a shitty answer from the Service Advisor. Unless he's quoting a full replacement seat for you?

That is a insane price for a new motor and installation! Get the $75 OE replacement and do it yourself, it's really not that hard.

Figured out why they were trying to rape me at the dealer. I called another dealer and they sell the vertical adjustment motor by itself BUT not the horizontal motor, to get the the one I need I have to buy the whole track assembly at $498!!!

Are you guys 100% positive it could not be the switch?? Obviously the switch is a multi functional type. Who ruled out the switch? Have any of you done any electrical testing of the wires at the motor that is supposedly faulty? Do this first before proceeding to the motor replacement.
If the power is found at the motor when the switch engages the circuit, then it looks like EBay it is! :2cents:

Have you done what I suggested in post # 11?
