idle trouble, stumbling, and truck occasionally dies.

Has anyone else had these problems? The truck has trouble idling sometimes, and under the lightest throttle conditions, the truck will surge and buck, hunt for an idle, and sometimes even die. It does it when I'm pulling into parking spaces, driveways, etc.. Things like that, that only require the slightest amount of throttle application.

It started probably a month or 2 ago, and I contacted Alvin(PCM4Less) about it, as I have his tune. He says that since my ECM/TCM were previously tuned by someone else(ADM), that the units may need to be wiped cleaned and tuned again from scratch. So, I decided to wait a lil while to do that, since I was gonna send my stuff back in anyway for some updates for the converter going in next weekend. Well, I sent my stuff in, got the loaners, and hoped they would take care of the problem. Well, I installed them, and I'm still having the same problems.

I've heard of some people having similar problems, and cleaning the throttle body helped, but I've also heard of some people having similar problems, but it was something with the truck, and had to have the dealership fix it.

Does anyone have any ideas about this, as it's getting really annoying.

I know there si a tsb for rough idle. The problem is probably not in the tune. It sounds like some kind of hard part is going bad. It could be anything from a torque converter lockup issue to a lazy 02 sensor. You need to scan the car and look at everything to see if something is out of wack.

That sounds very plausible, as the truck has been hard to start a few times after it died. I'll call my dealer and see when they can get me in to take a look at it.

Do you have a log file of when it does this? If you have this problem.. here are a few things to look at:
Idle spark
Underspeed/Overspeed Adaptive Idle Spark - Coastdown,gear, and P/N
Idle airflow min
Adaptive idle airflow

Did you perform a case learn when you swapped pcms?

If you cannot provide a log.. make note of when it happens.. The tune demands more idle airflow when the truck has a colder ECT (its a multiplier). Has it ever bucked or stalled when you had a cold ect?

At 3mph it switches from coastdown spark to base spark. So when you are rising and falling around that threshold, coasting down (coast-to-base) and speeding up (base-to-main spark), it is all over the place.. It is likely that you touch 3 spark tables.. Main spark table (most spark), base idle (some spark), and coastdown (lowest spark). Not to mention.. 3 tables for adaptive airflow. Then you have your ECT rising.. which lowers the req airflow.. but that might not affect it too much.
