I have an 06 awd and need a stall real bad and someone told me that I could use a I6 converter. What do they stall at? I found an 03 I6 trailblazer but I don't know if they can handle the power since I have baby cam and long tubes.:dunno

Lots of guys running circle d. Belive it's a modified I6 converter that won't break the bank. $400 new.

:ss-smiley:I'd love to go with a yank 3200 and call it a day but my local junkyard has an 03 tb I6 with the converter still in it for 60 bucks! I just don't want to toast the converter because it was only intended for the power of a 6 cylinder.

The I6 converter is as beefy as the LS2 converter, both have brazed fins and the same internal parts, just a different stall.

That being said, I'd never recommend using a used converter and the aftermarket parts will be stronger and have any stall you want. So, it was a good choice to go with the Circle D.

Do the circle D if its in the budget. Do the rwar main seal at same time if higher miles.

Yank is not worth the extra money. The hubs break and wont be warrantied and no baloon plate.

Our 278mm starts it's life out as an I6 TB converter. We do several durability upgrades with the most important being a rear bearing retainer - this is the most common failure we see in the OE. We also upgrade to a HD clutch lining, TIG welding, and HD impeller hub just to name a few. And another big item is our stall recalibration, raise the flash RPM to 3000-3200 range. Much better performance then the OE I6. Bang for the buck with dependability, I think you will be very happy.

The 278mm is in our HP Series line, entry level performance converter. We do offer a Pro Series line, this upgrades you to a billet front and a custom built stall. But I think that is overkill for what you are looking for in a TBSS.

Sounds like I'll be getting the "d" ( no ****) lol!! Now all I have to do is talk to rpm and see what trans and converter packages they have. I might as well upgrade the tranny while I have it out that's if I can get a deal for both but don't know what brand converter they deal with? Hopefully it's a circle d.:muahaha:
