Mis-fires under WOT, Shitty gas mileage

 

Lol^^ what's shitty gas mileage. I average now 16.5. But have had 20 mpg on a trip. So I take it that's not bad.

When mine went out my gas mileage went to about half. then *poof* limp mode.

 

yup, shitty mileage, reduced power, may be glowing after a long drive.

 

Stick your finger in their asses and squeeze the anal gland. You'll know if they are clogged, post haste.

 

Misfires, shit gas mileage, and you should throw a cat inefficiency code with a SES light.

 

Rotten egg smell under wot or dropped at a light with the windows down.... just drive to the exhaust shop they'll charge you 40ish to take email off and you can go sell em for 50 or so and then getter rear o2s tuned out... then you don't gotta worry about it

 

So that's what that smell is at WOT?

If they are pooched you can probably get GM to replace them under the clean air emissions warranty which is usually good past the 100K miles drivetrain point.

However, we had GM replace a cat on our '02 Camaro at 108K.

 

Dont forget that hissing sound, thats a dead give away at WOT & it will be very quiet and majorly down on power as well. Easiest way to tell is have someone hit the gas pedal when you have your hand in front of tail pipe. If it blows hard, your goona be fine.

Usualy it takes a bit to trip the engine light. If your tuned, it may even be tuned out already. You can also test by drilling a small hole before the cat and using a pressure gauge. Most good shops can do this for you. What symptoms are you having?

 

It what just a question. No symptoms. Its all good. After getting my muffler delete the fiber glass hair shit blew out of the res. So I think I have plenty back pressure. Thanks fellas for ALL your input. This will be some valuable info for people wondering if their cats are clogged. :2thumbsup:
