Any one running 275/45/22 tire on 22X9 wheels? and what brand are they using? the Nitto 420s look very good. I was looking at the spec of a 285/40/22 nitto 420s and the falken's and they are too wide for 9" wide wheel. what u guys think? most of u running 285/40 or 35 on 22X9 replicas how is it working out? I understand 265/40/22 are the perfect fit but not meaty enough for me. I love how the 285/40 look but a little worried that they are too wide. opinions please....

Thanks for ur input. Here is what I m looking at http://www.nittotire.com/Tire/nt420s#size

a 255/50/20 Nitto 420 overall dia is 30.00 and overall width is 10.16 recommended on 7.0-(8.0)-9.0 wide wheel.( factory if u well)
a 285/35/22 Nitto 420 overall dia is 29.80 and overall width is 11.22 recommended on 9.5-(10.0)-11.0 wide wheel.
a 275/45/22 Nitto 420 overall dia is 31.73 and overall width is 10.67 recommended on 8.5-(9.0)-10.5 wide wheel.
a 275/40R22 Nitto 420 overall dia is 30.67 and overall width is 10.71 recommended on 9.0-(9.5)-11.0 wide wheel.

The 285/35/22 is a bit shorter and over an inch wider. it's recommended for a 10" wide wheel and a lot of guys have them installed on a 9" wheel.
now the other two sizes are closer to factory "if u well". I know the 275/45 is way taller if the truck is dropped but the width is good and it fits a 9"/9.5" wheel right.

You can run the 275-45-22 tire but you have to shave the upper ball joint down a little bit. If you run the DJM upper control arms the answer is no they will not fit

thanks for ur input. I love ur truck by the way. I believe u are right, but I'm not dropped and I'm not looking to do that anytime soon. I see It would be a problem if I do.
Nitto is recommending a
265/40/22 on 9.0-(9.5)-10.5 wide wheels
275/40/22 on 9.0-(9.5)-10.5
285/35/22 on 9.5-(10.0)-11.0

I'm just trying to understand how u guys running 285/35-40/22 on 9" wheels? I'm looking bigger wheels and for meaty side walls not for width.

Its not going to matter if you lower the truck if your using different springs or scotts collars. The issue with it not fitting is the distance between tire/wheel in relation to where the top part of the spindle/ball joint is. When my tires were new you couldnt fit a quarter between the tire and the upper ball joint. I had to pretty much paint it then drive it..shave some more...paint and drive till it wasnt rubbing at all. In other words even if your at stock height you will not be able to use the 275-45's unless you wanna do what I did. I like you wanted a meaty tire because the roads around here suck. It also makes the truck look little lower by taking up little more space in the wheel well
