Blaze, I'm attempting to hookup the trans temp guage, I got the sender mounted to the pan and wire clipped to the guage, black ground wire from guage mounted underneath floor near headers. How do I mount wire from guage to ignition? and for light bulb can I mount 12volt wire to dimmer switch? Which color wire for dimmer switch? Finally, for ground is there a specific area on the body to ground? THANKS BLAZE !!!!!!!!!!

Yes you can tap it to the dimmer wire and that is the brown/white wire coming off the headlamp switch. The switched 12volt source wire (gauge to ignition) you can do one of two things, Find a wire under the dash that gets power when the key is in the run position and tap in to it (using a t tap) or, Run a wire back to the fuse block under the rear drivers seat and jump a fuse(using a fuse spade) that powers when the key is in the run position. For the ground no it will not matter were you ground the gauge. You could just ground it behind the dash on a metal structural support. As for running the wire i would suggest running the threw a grommet in the fire wall and not drilling a hole in the floor. The floor will most likely leak

I'm interested in getting a trans temp gauge installed on my truck, but i'm wondering exactly how we're going to install one? I'd like to put the gauge at the SS cubby hole, but you have to drill a hole into the trans pan to mount the sender?? On my Grand Am, I had just swapped the OEM sender for the Auto-Meter and the factory harness still hooked up when I installed the gauge on that car. Can this done the same? Should I get electric or mechanical? I know the Mechanical can read a higher temp than the electric.

Which one is it? I'm interested in checking it out and i'm on their website right now.
You can get all of the gauges in the nexus line-up in the plug and play. Look for the part numbers to be in the 67** series versus the 64** series.

Example:

My Trans Temp part number is 6457, the plug-n-play version will be 6757.

Go to summitracing.com and they have all of them listed, just search for "nexus" in the keyword search...
