I want to know why I dynoed so low. baseline with a flowmaster 40 series put down 284hp and 292tq . after a tune ,e-fan , intake, 160 thermostat .My best pull was 301hp and 314tq. Something is wrong. I feel that I could have gotten them numbers without a tune and just the boltons. It's as if they never tune it. crazy as that sound. your help would greatly be appreciated. cause I'm puzzled. matt said that the 07 have some learning issues. this maybe, not saying matt is wrong. but the low baseline is killing me and the so so jump in numbers , is crazy!

What does the graph look like? Please post.. That will tell you if something is f'd up.. Perhaps you are in the low octane timing table.. What was the worse quality gas you ever put in it? Did you disconnect the battery after doing any of the mods? Did you do this and then immediately hop on the dyno?

Sounds like they maybe didn't adjust the iat timing table and it's pulling 8-10 degrees of timing out. That would explain some of it...

the increase with the mods was not low......focus on the increase but undertand the low numbers.....the temp between pulls could be an issue as well

these are my thoughts on the numbers....

if they data logged the run look at the IAT if it is over 123 degrees then you were loosing timing as suggested above......

if it was a mustang dyno it applies magnetic resistance to calculate a number based on acctual drag factors of gravity and wind resistance which will never produce WHOPPING NUMBERS......add this machine to hi temps where you are losing timing and there is your answer.....

IMHO a mustang dyno with temp retard would put down those exact numbers with your setup....JUST GUESSING THOUGH.....about 10% dyno 5% timing 15% total loss = 346/361 which is right where every other truck out there put down like your setup.....

they have some really fast trucks there line up with one that put down the digits with the same mods as yours and do a real world test....that will explain exverything you are asking here...

there are so many variable that will pull timing and it is obvious to me that you lost ALOT of timing so discovering the source of the loss is important so that you can control the conditions in the future.....

OH ALMOST FORGOT......AWD or 2WD?

I have a tune/efans/ported TB, and I dynoed at 285/295 on a Mustang Dyno (06, AWD).

Mine is pulling timing, and running pig rich...little quirks that need to be adjusted, but not a big deal. It runs great, and has a great 2nd gear bite (when the trans isn't a steady 185°). These trucks are amazingly sensitive to air temps, as well.

Did Matt tune on the Dyno, or use a canned tune?

Hell i did a tune way back when i bought ss and currently had headers, efans, ud pulley, cai, ls7 tb, etc and it didn't DYNO worth shit!!! It runs awesome, but im still trying to figure out whats up other than i might jus say fock it and go from there.

DYNOS are jus #'s and for me i want an SS that runs well and can whoop some ass around town.

It starts pulling timing at 86 degrees F.

here it is and thanks for the info.I HAD TUNE TIME PERFORMANCE DO THE WORK, AND YES AFTER THIS WAS DONE WE JUMPED ON THE DYNO. IS THAT A NO NO? I DON'T BELIEVE THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED AFTER MODS INSTALLED. I ALWAYS PUT 93 OCTANE AND IT'S ALWAYS SUNOCO OR BP .ONE TIME I GOT GAS AT SAM'S WHOLESALE WHICH STATED THAT THEY GOT THEIR GAS FROM MOBIL/EXXON. THIS WAS RIGHT BEFORE THE WORK WAS DONE. THAT'S IT NO OTHER GAS AND NEVER BELOW 93.

You should ask for a dynograph that plots hp and torque over rpm and not time.. with a separate graph for a/f.. Do Mustang Dynos have a downloadable viewer for the end user? I know dynojet does.

Damn dude. Do you see that huge drop in power? Right at 15 seconds. And then the a/f ratio is kinda rich.. This print out is kinda hard to view without the rpm as a reference.. What rpm did you start and stop the pull at?

that's what matt gave me, when i go back for the pulley install i will get something better. you notice that drop too. matt couldn't say for sure why that happened either,He suspect it was the flowmaster. I have since replaced the flow master with a corsa sport catback. when we investigated the exhaust setup. we found two area where they had welded in a 1 ft long 2 1/2 inch pipe. this was causing some serious flow issues.

i put down 433/413 with 100 octane and little timing through the stock catback....the exhaust is not your issue i GUARANTEE that....

the tune looks like there is room to lean it out even more and probaly get a little more aggressive with the timing.....an 07 2WD on 93 octane puts down about 315ish in north texas on a dynojet....reduce that about 10% for the mustang dyno and you have 285ish about your #'s....

the timing table for heat soak starts at 123 degrees IAT and from my understanding you can copy one table layout and paste those settings on the replacement table

Oh wow.. would you look at that.. I never realized that the multiplier table was zero'd out under 122 degrees. I wonder what the purpose of the main table is for? That thing starts at 86!
