she'll be ok. I updated my little checklist to reflect some things I found with the rotor difference which leads to a person sh!tcanning the TBSS alt if you want to go 8 rib clutch pulley upgraded, which works for my use case- if you wanted to keep your OEM 6 rib clutch, you would just need the special tool and swap over the tbss pulley onto the KW1 alt then be good to go with the 250 amp 6 rib clutch setup tentatively

Ok so ya, the KW1 rotor is about the same, maybe SLIGHTLY bigger but it may be on a slightly longer shaft and in a diff spot, around .3 ", possibly. about 3/10" longer on the KW1- makes sense, longer bolts by 3/10 than the TBSS etc etc

The rotors are the same width, around 4.2" and same depth, around 2.2-2.3
BUT the KW1 weight almost a pound more. I think there is more copper on the rotor, obviously your eyes can play tricks on you but to me it looks like the KW1 has morecopper on it. you can't see the plastic carrier on it and the depth of the winding is the same for both. However. The distance from the top of the rotor claw to the copper winding is 50 thou LESS when measuring 3 spots along the claw on the KW1 than the TBSS alt, which says there is more wire, which matches with not being able to see the plastic on the KW1 (yellow boxes) versus being able to see it on the TBSS

as far as pulleys and shaft length on the front half, that doesn't seem to be an issue, they're the same. your eyes will play tricks on you, but they are the same length protruding from the case, around 1"

Ok, so that makes the TBSS shaft ~1.1"

KW1 pulley is almost flush to the end of the shaft, you can see some out of focus brown shmegma in the center, that's the shaft

So ya, looks like both shafts are about an inch protruding on the front end but the KW1 on the back end is definitely bigger. waiting on parts for now, shouldn't be long ya right lol

FIC injectors require some washers (they’re a tad taller), but nbd.
Here are the injectors that came with this kit from Magnuson. I was curious myself. Flex fuel 50pph at 4 bar (stock gm FP). Installed FIC hogs, should be fine with the bigger displacement etc

Brake duct cooler fan mounted, waitin to wire everything in but ya easy day NBD. Evidently you install the temp sensor finger tight with some RTV sealing it. Ok roger that. Also- the instructions say to mount the sensor fitting on the lower ‘inlet’ port- im not good with the amount of clearance (like none), so I put the sensor on the upper ‘outlet’ port of the cooler. Ya it may run all the time, im ok with that tbh

I used the mothers power cone with some wheel polish cream. They look pretty decent but any imperfection really shows up close. Im ok with how they look tbh after 15 years of dings n stuff. Also I only spent about 20 min per wheel on polishing fwiw

Picked up the driveshafts this morn, new U joints, gonna POR-15 them here in a bit, also picked up the front diff after a full rebuild, that was totally grenaded even though I thought it wasnt, nbd tho. Luckily the ring gear and pinion weren't trashed and everything is within spec. Gonna need to take it easy on that lil puppy, but I don't see how that is possible lol. eh is what it is with the front diffs on these things I think

Ya, i gotcha. Naw man I like the AWD. Its just a complete nightmare to maintain, which isnt even the correct term. You’re just fixing and then preppin for the next fix/seal change but it sure does grip well. Plus the cool torsen xfer case

Made some progress today, drivetrain is goin back in little at a time, pulled off the power steering lines, those are cheap so just replace them. Also ordered a new starter, I broke the old one by turning too hard on the +12 feed cable nut, broke the plastic piece on the solenoid, terminals came loose, arrgh. Eh I should have put some PB blaster on it but the silver lining is it will have a new AC delco exact same PN, uggh 275 bucks but that’s something that honestly im ok with replacing…. if the old one died in 3 mos Id be kickin myself for not replacing it
Also took a few trips to home depot to figure out the bolt size for the bracket that secures the fuel lines to the transmission to the 1 o’clock of the park neutral switch on the side of the trans. It is m6x1.0 10mm shank length. That was conveniently left off when i had the trans installed way back when…. Nbd tho. Oh and it isnt m6x10 on an 07 transmission case, the RPM one must be older. I was using my old OEM 2007 70e for testing the bolts, thats when I thought they might be different, and yes, even the bracket bolts are different on model year trans cases

anyways. Tearin into the harness and tryin to clean stuff, replace busted wire loom retainers, clean grounds, etc etc

-also. Gonna run the RPM trans till its dead and save/plan for the 80 swap. That may lead to RWD, maybe. Could use that in the tahoe, along with the TBSS intake once the shitbox is good to go
