I had this come up in my D.I.C.today. I've never seen it before. I guess I've never left it on too long. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes. It happens when the turn signals are engaged for a period of time....Just a reminder for you to turn it off...

I tried purposely to do it this morning and it wouldn't.

I knew that warning message was there but I didn't know the criteria to trigger it, so I looked it up.

The IPC illuminates the TURN SIGNAL ON indicator in the driver information center when the IPC determines that the turn signal is active for more than 1.2 km (0.75 mile). The IPC also sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate the audible warning.

LoL, class2 message is a communication protocol between modules of lesser significance in the module communication architecture. The IPC (instrument panel cluster) is one of those less significant modules and therefore it gets the slow phone line to talk on. There is also GM high speed LAN and GM low speed LAN :p in addition to class2 data. But those are for more important modules like the ECM, TCM, EBCM, and SDM and they get the high speed phone line to talk on.

It reminds me of a quote from the movie Mr. Mom.

Ron Richardson: Yeah? Are you gonna make it all 220?
Jack Butler: Yeah. 220... 221, whatever it takes.
