The time is approaching for me to make some decisions and collect parts. I'm approaching 208k miles on my truck and the trans is getting funky, exhaust manifolds are leaking, along with the front diff seal (the one against the oil pan of course) and the ac clutch fried. So it's all coming out to be fixed at the same time. Now this truck my bad weather driver, boat hauler and car hauler so I can't build peaky race motor and I'm staying naturally aspirated. I'm looking to keep the torque curve nice and broad.

Im planning on a 4" stroker kit, so 402-408 depending on the bore.
Stock block
Cam from Matt at GP
Long tubes
3200 stall converter (I want to maintain tow capacity)
The rest of the typical supporting mods.

My question is on heads and intake manifold. I'm looking for suggestions in what to choose. I'm thinking that porting the stock heads may be a good route to keep the port velocities up and maintain a broad torque curve. Maybe an aftermarket head with conservatively sized runners would be better? Not really sure.
