I recently added (11/22) the SLP cat-back system with dual staggered 3.5 inch tips. Here are a few things to know:

1. It’s louder than stock, but not so loud that my wife realizes it’s louder- winning!
2. True Blue dual tip rear valance works best with 8.5 in or less tip width. I tried the 4 inch dual tips (@ 8.34 inches) and I felt that it looked too snug. The 3.5 inch staggered looks right.
3. Trailer harness extension- while the rear valance was off I installed the ext for the harness. To save you time, the harness wiring unplugs from the back off the standard harness. I couldn’t figure out how the extended harness and the standard plug connected. Here’s the part # for extension. GM 10365399
4. There is a support bar that runs across the center of the truck from right to left. The SLP muffler will not allow it to be reinstalled. I added a 1.5 in spacer and longer bolt on both sides and it works great with about 1/4 inch clearance.
5. The True Blue rear valance comes with clips. Again to save you time the go over the tabs on the valance to lock it into place. They don’t go through the factory spaces like the OEM clips. GM missed a huge opportunity to do it right with a dual valance, stock. It would have really set the SS apart. yours looks amazing!

But since it would cost them an extra $8 to mass produce, I’m sure it was vetoed by the bean counters.

I agree. But, it also allows for some personalizing of the truck based on multiple rear valance options. I ordered PC of NC efans, air box and just uploaded a Tune.

Where did you order the exhaust from? More specifically, how long did it take to receive once it was ordered?

And where did you get the tips from? Looks amazing!

First, the Dual/Dual tips look great!!!! I wish I would have gone that route but I kept SLP's 4" tips and valence instead...

I like the fact that the TBM valence clips in versus relying on 3m tape like the SLP valence. I modified the OEM center insert around the trailer hitch to make the SLP valence fit properly as the valence protruded a little far out in a couple areas preventing the 3m tape from adhering properly in those areas. I would have modified the SLP valence before paint if I had noticed prior. Unfortunately it wasn't until after paint and during installation with the tape that I noticed it.

To comment about the support bar. I did not need spacers nor longer bolts on mine to reinstall my bar as I was able to push up on the muffler and reinstall it. The muffler does rest on the bar but there is no vibration/noise that is created from this.

I did need to purchase new SS exhaust clamps as the uni-bolt clamps that came with the kit, I was unable to expand enough to slip over the piping for installation. The clamps I pruchased were reasonable priced from Summit Racing and were shipped/delivered very quickly.

To get my alignment right, the right exhaust pipe runs very close to the right rear air spring. It was too close for comfort for me so I purchased DEI's 6" x 1' titanium pipe/exhaust shield (DEI p/n 010450) for a little added protection.

@sahls01gmc SLP still sells their exhaust - 2006-2009 Trailblazer SS PowerFlo Exhaust System - Dual Outlet - slponline.com I purchased mine earlier this year (2022) from Summit Racing as they price matched an internet add I had found at the time. It took 3 months before receiving it even though SLP references 8 weeks on their website. Maybe it took longer since I didn't order directly from SLP but I was able to save $200 at the time due to Summit Racing's price match so the wait was worth it IMO.

Well heck you could have hit me up to get it for ya! I live 5 min from Summit Racing in Arlington, TX 😇 The place is huge!!! It easily covers more area than a football field.

I thought about designing my own slant cut boxy tips similar to what Dodge was useing back in the day on Challengers and Cudas. A buddy of mine, Richard Sheffield, here in DFW, TX is going to be making real carbon fiber valances after the holidays with my help in design and distribution. I used to be one of the venders on here way back in the beginning with my baffle, Leds, bumper step plates, door sills and many other items when it was under Tony's direction. Things changed and Im over on all the TBSS FB groups now. Still growing it and now over 4000 customers in 4 countries. 😇
