Most of the time this is a tire issue, like something inside it or the tire separating. But it is hard to find.

In the gas pedal itself? I was taught if you felt vibrations in the steering wheel, it was a front tire problem. Felt vibrations in your ass (Yes, I said it...), it was a rear tire problem. (Unless you drive a Benz with vibrating seats. :D)

Must be a driveline vibration (Tires/trans/engine miss, etc...) since the gas pedal is not connected to any part of the engine (it's an electrical sensor attached directly to the pedal lever).
