Lots of people I know swear by these:

I personally dont believe in them because of the 'instant on' that most departments use. By the time they hit you and the detector goes off its already too late. If Im going to speed Im prepared for the inevitable when it happens.

like they said above, buy a valentine one. I ran one for 6 yrs. But like Chris mentioned, you have no warning against the "instant on". Unless the officer is using that on alot of the traffic in front of you, in that cas you would obviously get a warning. But if you happen to crest that hill going 85 and youre the only car....ooops
or just slow down...if you really take a look at the time, speed and distance for your speed vs driving the speed limit, its not that serious of a difference. especially when you figure mileage and the risk of fines from tickets. Of course maybe Im just getting old! I apologize for rambling on....

v1 all the way! Mine has actually even saved me from laser. The arrows are awesome. One trip it saved me 4 times which pretty much paid for itself.

Go to the first link in my post. Not trying to flame or fight. I just think you will be impressed.

Ma'am have you ever seen a cat skeleton in a tree? Exactly it will come down.

Concealed detector. There is nothing in your windshield and you can put the display wherever you want. Detects POP, Instant on, Laser.

I also agree with the V1. Had it for a couple years and it has saved me quite a few times. It is more expensive than some of te others, but absolutely worth it. I had an escort solo before the V1 and I couldn't live without the arrows. Other detectors may be the V1's equal as far as actual detection goes, but the arrows are irreplaceable.

Passport 9500ix...I had the V1 at the same time as the ix and the ix won. Too many modern features that the V1 doesn't. Both are top notch but the ix wins hands down.

V1- don't need all the other GPS, bells and whistles. Just the arrows that tell me front, side, behind, which band and how many. Got mine new with case for $365.
