I've been scouring this forum for a while looking for an answer, but the more I read the more I get confused and my brain now is basically spaghetti. I just got an 06/07 tbss (vin is 06, everything else in the car says it's an 07. last thing to check is if it's x24 or x58 and end that question once and for all). anyway, I'm planning on installing an aftermarket android unit and planning on retaining rear seat controls (no rear dvd). I've been looking the the metra/axxess units and they say that they don't retain RSE with external power button, so does that also apply for RSC with external power button ?

here's what I have:
-UQA RPO code digital amp (also not sure if it's the same as the bose system)
-rear seat control with power button (I'd like to retain that, not sure if there's a one without a power button)
-steering wheel controls
-oem navi unit with diy aux input (not sure if factory though)

Questions:
1-the one I wrote above I guess
2-If I can't retain the controls do the rear speakers function normally ?
3-do you guys have any recommendation for an android headunit (I don't mind cheapo chinese ones as long as they work) ?

Far as head units go, I'm currently looking at a refurbished Kenwood 9905S. Depends on what features you're looking for. And agreed=brain like noodles

Thanks I've been eyeing this one, though might get the axxess/metra steering control unit which most people recommend over the pac unit.

This one is so far the best for my case, I know a kenwood distributor that can hook me up a with a cheap showroom model or something like that.

Though this will have to wait because someone has spun a bearing lol

FYI, if you're thinking about PAC, I tried their steering wheel controller and could never get it to work. The Axxess ASWC has worked perfectly through multiple headunits.

Another thumb up for the Axxess ASWC. My PAC SWC never worked right either. Waste of money on that crap.
