I've had RP in mine since about 1400 miles, and I'm not at 17K, and the rear has been dead quiet. That includes 3 road trips, and countless 1/4 mi passes, both at the track, and on the street!

ditto that, mine starting to make noise - then put in RP and its now over 20K and running great, I just changed the front diff too.

mine whines around 30mph...I had one of my Tech's from work ride/drive it while I was in it and he said no worry right now..its just really annoying!
say some RP will clear this up???

I picked up about 3mpg when I went to RP in my 4wd silvy in the transfer case, front and rear diffs. when it was in 4hi it got the same mpg as it did before in 2wd i miss the 4wd sometimes, that was a good truck, wish i could have kept it.

A whine at any steady speed is not clutch chatter, it's either bearing problems or gear not setup with the proper clearances. Putting better lube will help, but it's not the fix.

link where to buy GL-100? and does the stock rear have a drain plug or do you have to pull the cover?

The rear drain plug is on the bottom of the diff and the fill plug is in the back.
Very easy to do, take out the spare tire for clearance if you need to, I did not because I have a pump to put it in.

Justr buy a gallon. You will probably need 2.5 to 3 qts.

If I use the GL 100 lube do I need to put the additive in or is it the miracle cure on its own. I'm running 2 bottles of GM fluid (8oz) in my current lube and it still moans a little and occasionally grind on hard turns...though it's not too bad. I just ordered a gallon of the VP.

No additive needed. Drain and refill with GL-100 and all rear end grind/moan problems go away.

I just bought three quarts last Thursday. I'm hoping to put it in this weekend. Question...when refilling, do you stop when it begins overflowing from the top hole?? I just wanted to confirm.
