Just got back from Weatherford Texas (Phoenix trans) started on my tranny soon after they opened. Greg the qwner gave me a tour. He also came back & got me when they had the tranny pulled, showed me what it looked like inside also compared the stock servo's to the billet ones being installed. He showed me all the stuff going into it shift-kit plus some of his personal tricks he does to make it better. Great customer service & great job. The also tore the tranny all the way done & checked everything. I was watching the final tear-down after Greg had me come back and take a look at my 2nd gear band & the cage the band clamps too. It was totally trashed (worn out) & the cage had to be turned on a lath & replaced with a new better band. They then pulled all the disc 2-3 & 3-4
disc. They were a little worn so he replaced all of them with better new disc. Everything else checked out perfect. He ask how hard I wanted to shift & I said enoght to get 2nd gear scratch. Well it does get so good of second get scratch it trips my trak-control light in second gear. It does about 10 to 12 ft. of second gear sratch with my DR's on. 3rd also hits hard. With the 2800-3000 stall it is well mannered on the street till you go WOT & hang on. I can tell it has a stall barely when driving normal. I doubt if someones wife would know anything was different unless she puts the foot to the floor. To say I am pleased is a under-statment. Feals like 40 plus more HP off the line. It is now the way GM should have built it. I drive vary moderate & have maybe 8 passes at the track 1/8 mile 4 times & 1/4 mile 4 times. This being said you will be shocked if you could see the inside after just a few runs. If you have a stock trans make your next mod a beefier trans. LOL

I say do it before you get all the trash from band & clutches messing it all up. I baby my truck compared to most you guys & at 5,000 to 6,000 miles the stock stuff was not looking good. Pull your trans dip stick & rub your finger through the trans fluid. Then smell of it. If it has any burnt smell you probable have some burnt clutches & for sure a bad second gear band. Mine did and it was burnt. Glad Gregs guys tore it completely down & checked it out even though I was just there for billet servo's, stall & TransGo shift kit. Since it was all tore down he only charged me a $100.00 more to replace the 2nd gear band with a HD better one alos replaced all the disc with upgrades. I know Phoenix makes sure all is good before the install it back in the truck.
