I order the Peripheral PXDPGMT and the PXHGMTX for the XM however I was told this cable would allow me to keep the DVD player instead of the XM is there any truth in that? Has anyone hooked up this unit that has the video entertainment package and been able to retain it's functionality?

SO if I do this install I can still use my XM or will it take up XM2 and leave XM1 factory?
I'm sure this would be too good to be true..
Do you have any picturs of your setup? and how it works..

She's unable to listen to her MP3 player while listening to XM. All she has to do is flip her toggle switch, and she's able to listen to her MP3 player, but not able to listen to XM until she switches back. With hers, no XM2 doesnt work either. They put her toggle next to the cig lighter. You can see a lil bit of it.

XM on

XM off

I just got my stuff in today and hooked it up. The install is pretty easy and straight forward and with the PXHGMTX cable I was able to retain my video entertainment console and XM1. My peripheral is using XM2. So far I love it and have no complaints about it. Best mod i've done so far.

One thing I noticed and I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I'm getting interference coming through the speakers. It's a high pitched whine and gets higher and more frequent when the RPM's on my truck go up. Any ideas on what this is or how it can be fixed.

Thanks

I had that problem in my last car, right after I put in my entire sound system. I cant remember exactly why it was but i think its either when the speakers frequency interfere that causes that whining pitch or something to do with the frequencies, really mad i cant remember exactly what it was but it never went away, only when i replaced all the new stuff with the old stuff did the sound go away. Goodluck

Usually the whine that changes pitch with rpm's has to do with a faulty ground somewhere in the system.

I've got the Peripheral setup and it is junk. I can't stand it and have all kinds of problems with it. Half the time it doesn't work at all, cuts in and out and more or less does a good job of making me insane. If I didn't have $100 and 2 hours of install time into it I would try and find something else.
