This shit sucks..........................FOR GM.
Put my SS in the shop last tuesday because it was slipping like a bitch, Got a call friday that they had 2 completely take it out the tranny and open it up. They had to order an entirely new clutch package, all free for me ofcourse, Plus the guy there is really cool i always bring my car to him cause he helps me out, Im getting a free oil change (synthetic ofcourse) rotate and balance of tires. And ofcourse my free loaner that they gave me....

O and I have a question, When i get my ss back, hopefully tuesday this week should I take it easy on the pedal to let the clutch adjust and wear in etc or does it not matter and I can still get a WOT without causing any problems?

:bum: <<<<<<<Just had 2 put that in cause I love these fuckin smilies hahhaa

Romp on it as soon as you get it. See what else you can break before your warranty runs out. Make sure the tranny will hold up.

And just cuz i think its funny:

If you take your VIN to a GM service dept. they can tell you what warranty work has been performed, along with any recalls completed or outstanding.

tiny07, your tranny problems are normal and expected. repairing your tranny with stock parts just means they are going to break again. the vendor worshippers will tell you a tranny tune-up will save your tranny, that's bullshit too. You need uprated hard parts to survive 400 lb ft in a 4600 lb vehicle. there are a few lists of hard parts circulating around that you reference for what needs to be upgraded to live. spend some time on the other sites reading tranny horror stories and make a list of their shit that broke, and then replace those items with aftermarket also. that's your solution.

Actually folks unlike what some of you have heard yes they want us to tear the trannys apart and find out what failed. Usually GM pays us to fix the problem and reinstall the same trans. But whenever severed damage has occured OR the cost of the parts and labor to fix the old tranny exceed the cost of a remaned tranny (SRTA) then usually they approve a SRTA replacement which is cool cuz it comes with like a 5 year/50k mile warranty.
