So I read the post about common failures and it says either a seal got blown out or I lost the clutch for those gears. It seems to have happened quite abruptly, and I was wondering if I should attempt the seal fix myself (what is involved). Any transmission guys in the house want to chime in?

Damn man sorry to hear. Call Greg at Phoenix and I'm sure he'll be able to give you some good advice on where to start and take care of you if you decide to send it to someone.

Call your local transmission parts wholesale supply store. (Not a repair shop). You can find the soft parts kit for around $120 last time I checked. Get some ATSG Techtran manuals too.

Still have reverse, 1st, and 3rd just fine with no slip at all. It will shift from 1st to 3rd directly, and using hp tuners I can select all gears, but only R,1, and 3 work.
