leather lasts longer, they'll eventuall crack and rip but long after cloth seats do
leather seats don't take in smells like cloth seats do
you may be underestimating the ease of cleaning, it's night and day

I have a set of rear seats from my 08 3SS that have been in my office for at least 6 years. I don't think they have ever been sat on LOL I'm in Central Florida

Leather doesn't stain like cloth does, cleans more easily, and it doesn't hold odors like cloth. That being said, leather is a good option if you're buying a farm truck or if you've got young kids. The disadvantage is that leather can be hot in the summer, and cold in the winter if you don't have seat warmers.
