Leading Edge Performance Tune

Well guys, Im getting ready to get a tune by Leading Edge Peformance here in Las Vegas. I have a K&N cai, 160 thermostat. I talked to Garth and he is going to download my ss, then schedule a date for the tune and 2 dyno pulls. What can I expect to gain? He was telling me some trucks see 0-30 hp increase, but mostly its a seat of the pants feel due to the improved shifts and air/fuel ratio perameters. 475 for everything. Has anyone had any tunes by them? Thanks!

Nate

Anyone????
Not 100% sure but I think they have a pretty good rep for the SS. I know that one member had Garth build him an engine I believe.
You are going to a one Happy Camper.
Garth has a great rep, so I think you'll be happy.
I've talked to him and seems like a good guy and he is big on the ls engines. When I get the money and do some stuff I will go through him. Where you located at

Cool! Thanks man! Im wondering if i should do headers then a tune...? I only have the money now for either a tune or headers. Any ideas?
Garth does GREAT work! A friend of mine Travis just had a little work done to his CTS-V there, and holy shit he woke that car up big time. I plan on having him tune the SS as soon as I can scape together the extra dough.

Garth is a nice guy but very forgetful. Make sure you get everything in writing.
Thanks for the heads up! ^

Start with the tune, you will be real happy with the difference in performance. It will make you have this. :biggrin2:

You should definitely not get headers and not a tune. Headers need a tune (or it's at least highly recommended) to compensate for the extra airflow I believe. Someone else will confirm.

I'd say just go with a CAI, efans, 160 t-stat and the tune; those are the basic first mods.

I'm sure you've read up, but beware of the tranny failing in these trucks. Happens often, and you def. up your chances for it failing with even these simple boltons. If you don't have cash to shell out for a new one, I'd talk with your tuner (Garth) about being easy on the tranny shit, like torque management and probably some other stuff

Post up afterwards

Thamks man for the heads up! I already have a cai, 160 thermostat, and ordering fans this week. What do you guys recommend for building up the trans? I ordered a cooler today so at least that will keep temps down. I will definatly post the results in a couple of weeks. Should be gettin the tune done first week in september.

SWEEEET! Cant wait.....:cheers1:
Dude the cooler will help big time. As long as the tune is done well and you don't mash it every where you go, you should be fine. I have all the same mods plus some and have 35k and the tranny still feels as good as the day I drove it off the lot. Actually better do to the tune and from what I here about leading edge you will be just fine.

When I did my converter I did the corvette servos and a cooler and never had any problems with the trans.

Garth being forgetfull is part of the experience, but not anything to be concerned about. He did my SS and I did not have one complaint with it or him. You won't be disappointed with anything that he does for you. He will be the one I call when it's time to build new power for my little pickup.

I'm out at my shop at the speedway everyday...maybe you shold swing by for a beer sometime!

LOL! I had to PM KC to remember what I forgot!!!!:rofl:
