I know I have seen this on the other form. But I am getting ready to send my headlights to Jay, and I tried taking the front grill off yesterday, but couldn't get it off. Does anyone have pictures of the unmounting process for the headlight assy.? This would be greatfully appreciated! Thanks in advanced:biggrin2:

For the grill you ca use a small flathead to pop the clips out of their holes. You can do this on the ones visible from under the hood but there are a few where the grill goes over the headlights you will just have to pull. I've done this about 5 times and its scary every time but never any probs. To get the headlight out there are a couple of connectors to unplug and I think two latch type things you have to pull up then it will lift right out. One is really easy the other I used a long screwdriver to pop it up.

I was scared the first time I pulled mine off too. Just pop the 4 clips on top by the radiator and then get a firm grip under the grill middle section (there is indentations under the lip to get your hands...give it one good yank and most of it should pop off. It get easier each time.

The headlight clips are kinda odd, but you pull up on the slide (2 per light) one towards the radiator and the other just under the corner of fender. Us a Long flat screwdriver to lift up the slide and the lights can come out. I had to push down on the bumper cover a little to get the bottom out and then swing the light out. The adjustment screw keeps it from coming straight out.

it sucks but as stated above, you really have to pull and yes it will feel like you are gonna break it.

Just make sure you pull from both sides of where the clip is... Pulling from one side will definately bust your grill..
They do take some muscle to come out..

I did a small Video on how-to-Remove the grill...

Holy crap! You did it in like 24 seconds! I guess I just gotta sack up and do it again so I can get Jay's headlight mod done. But man...when I did it to change the bowtie is scared the hell outta me and took me forever!

got it... seen how thin the grill pieces that go across the headlights are, so I popped both sides off first, popped the tops, and yanked the bottoms right off with no issues. :D

Jay - Thanks a bunch for making that video. It will be a HUGE help when I replace the factory gold bowtie this evening with a new polished aluminum one. Thanks again!

I second that Thx! I just replaced my emblem and it went smoothly, grill and all. In my mind, I pictured me standing there with half the grill in my hand wondering what to do next. You guys were right on point, pull from both sides and it pops right off. It's like that first needle. You're hesitant and it's over before you know it started!:coolthumb:
