Hood has not been off in my time with it. I dug thru my Haynes manual and there’s nothing about trailering or anything about that ground strap that I can find. Does make sense to me tho. I’ll look into the owners manual and see if there is anything about it in there. Just found it odd to have a ground strap that wasn’t attached to anything and even odder to me is that this is the first I’ve seen it.

Throw that stupid Haynes book away - it is not trustworthy for anything more complicated that as kids wagon or propping up a wobbling table. .
That is a ground strap that should be attached to a stud on the firewall. Look for it.
It is usually for the hood and fender ground integrity.
DO NOT ATTACH IT TO THE STUD ON THE SIDE OF THE FUSE/RELAY PANEL ....... FIRE AND BRIMSTONE AND FLYING MONKEYS WILL COME OUT OF THE GROUND AND CONSUME YOU!
