This was at my daughter's apartment complex this morning, and if I'm not mistaken that guy lives on the third floor, so his house is okay. My daughter lives on the first floor, and didn't fair so well.

question and it may sound stupid but I am no insurance expert, but in a situation like this would they cover you if your car was in a flood or a tree falling on it?

I doubt it he was trying to save it, because this storm happened in the middle of the night and none of the residence even knew this had happened until this morning.
