Folks, I’m looking for a little guidance for parts and install info.

I have a 2003 Isuzu Ascender with the 5.3 V8. It’s four wheel drive.

The front diff is shot. The front axles have been pulled. I’ve hardly ever used the 4WD so it’s no loss to me.

I’d like to remove the front diff and swap the oil pan with a “normal” pan. I understand that I need to drop the left lower control arm to get the diff off and drop the cross member behind the engine to get the pan out.

What would be the best oil pan to use that won’t break the bank?

With the cross member removed, does the pan swap without a huge struggle? Will I need to lift the engine a bit?

Any other surprises I should be aware of? I have access to a lift in a well lit shop.

TIA

C6 corvette pan + billet AC bracket. The pans are now almost $500.

An oil pickup relocation is significantly less expensive, but a lot more expensive than I remember.

Why dont you just leave it alone? I’m mean what are you going to gain by replacing oil pan with different one? If you already pulled front axles then you’ll be fine!! Seems like your trying to spend money where it’s not needed!!
