I have it in the truck now w/ just over 7k miles on it. I want $1500, your tranny and stall and you pay for the swap. The catch is...... We need to get this done in a week.

Bump $1500 plus yours and install costs. I have a shop ready to do it this coming Monday or Tuesday.

Do you have paperwork that states this is what is in your truck? I'm not interested as I already have a built tranny from FLT just looking out for the other guys on here.
This is one of the deal sounds to good. You are selling a tranny and converter worth 4K new for 1,500 plus swap cost what ever that might be.
Your power level should not have hurt this tranny. I am wondering when you had Chuck build this for you as he has made several updates in the last couple years.

Also is this for an AWD or 2-WD?

Then don't worry about it. I will show all paperwork to the buyer. The swap will cost around $1800 based on 11hr job X2. It is AWD. I either get a free $1500 and someone gets a deal or the dealership gets it. I think I would rather the $1500.

The reason I was worried about it and asking is because I know several people here in Ohio with TBSS and if I thought it was a great deal I would tell them about it and I could have put some money in your pocket. But with your comment I can tell you I will not be helping you sell this. Now that I see what the swap is going to cost at your shop of choice this is not such a great deal as I first thought. This would almost cost someone the same price as getting a new tranny and new converter. You are saving someone shipping the tranny cost and install price. Savings around 1,000 for a 7,000 mile tranny that is a couple years old with old technology in it. As I said before Chuck at FLT has new and better parts he installes in the 4L70 now.

I just called one shop. Not one that the person buying has to use. I don't care who swaps it as long as it is done by Thursday. And it is less than one year old.

I'm very interested in this but is it just me or does that labor cost seem ridiculous? Did you write that correctly?

$1800 total for 2 cars? Are they saying its going to take them 11 hours per car?! My old man can drop the transmission out of our race truck on his back with no lifts and get that done in 6 to 7 hours. Somethings not right here...

Do the math to much money, you can buy a new one for about that much. and you don't have to drive so manny hours and you can keep your old one.:dunno::2cents:
If I end up doing this swap, he's only going to be driving to the place he wants to go to. I'm about 45 minutes away so I'm really considering hopping on this deal. Only thing is I thought transmission places could usually do a swap for around 500 (maybe even 400) bucks, $900 seems ridiculously high.

Rob is a good guy.. If you are worried about the labor costs them call a few transmission shops in Chesapeake/Portsmouth VA and ask price for swap. He said he doesn't care who does swap... just my opinion. I am going to his house tomorrow morning to get some parts. If i had enough money I would buy everything..
