Maybe the first post had the wrong topic.
I'm due to change coolant in my truck and want to drain the block. I found something on a GTO LS2 site that said the block plugs are different sizes. Said 8 mm hex (allen socket) on passenger side and 17 mm hex on driver's side. Can anyone verify or tell me if it's different? Thanks, Curtis
P.S. I know there's no drain on the radiator; just pull the lower hose.

Be carefull there are two hex plugs on the driver side that are oil plugs.

I was hoping someone who's had an engine out or done a coolant change might chime in.

Okay, I found a picture of the block http://image.hotrod.com
Looking at this, it's obvious the coolant drain is the opening near the bottom on the side of the cylinders pointing down. The openings above the pan rail would be the oil plugs JCatt referred to.
Now if I can get confirmation on hex wrench sizes, I'll be set. Thanks in advance.
