i have a friend with a SSS and hes been running a third of a tank of e85 like everyother tank and said its been running the best since he bought it....he did get an occasional check engine but said it went away....is this ok to do would it really help that much?....im not expecting 20hp from it but it is like .60 cents cheaper than 91 premium

Wont do anything but hurt you unless you have a fuel system and are tuned for it. Is his a flex fuel vehicle?

no its just a plain old stock SSS and he mixes in the e85 with 91 premium everyother tank and he said hes felt it running better since....IDK

Im sure its all in his head that its running better. And if i had to bet, id say hes geting a lean code when the check engine light comes on.

I know of an LT1 guy running slightly larger injectors with a tune for E85 and is happy with it. If adjusted for in the tune it should yield some power but without a tune the ECM is probably thinking WTF.
