so i made an appointment for a dyno on the tbss and practically cried with the results.during the second pull she only made 349 to the rears and with allthe money that ive spent it better be more than that so after the pull we see smoke from the engine compartment #3 and #5 wires are on fire apparently they sit just close enough to the headers to melt them which caused them to short which is why my #'s were way off so my question is ive got the granatelli wires already coming will a set of sleeves keep them from melting, sleeves withstand 1200 degrees i think

At least the 3 and 5 plugs are on the drivers side.. Make sure you angle them correctly so they do not touch. I will take pics of my MSD wires coming in tomorrow and show you what the situation looks like.. If they look bad, tell me.. At least the GMS have 0 ohms. You should call up GMS for any reccomendations.

Heh. two very different cars.. Vette would've been more enjoyable with the 6 speed manual. But then.. 2 seater. oooooh.

You need to look into Taylor short wires that are 45 degree. I had your same issues as my Kooks headers had my wires sitting right on top of them. lol.

I am getting scared about my wires!

I have just had the kooks long tubes and SLP duals installed and my exhaust guy commented about how close the wires were and how long till the started to melt!:shocking:
Does anyone have the "perfect" solution yet?????

I just got my MSDs in.. At first I thought I was screwed because they were 180 deg on the spark boot end. But it turns out you can bend them up to 45 degrees. None of my wires come close to the headers.. I still want to check resistance before/after bend..

I hope the GMS wires work well for you. They are pricey but I heard they really are damn near 0 ohms.. So.. that should do the trick eh? Got your iridiums, nice ass wires.. gonna be the 4th of july in your engine. Superspark. You log MPG before? Make sure to take a note on that one!

O problems with the GMS wires, they clear the SW headers. They use a OEM style boot.
awesome but i think ill still install the socks just in case all that horsepower wants to jump out the hood hehe
