So today I go to check the oil on our '06, 54K, AWD TBSS.

I pull the dipstick, which is tight as hell as usual, managing to avoid slamming my hand as it comes out, then wipe the stick and go to put it back into the tube.

At this point the stick goes in as far as the lowest o-ring and stops. Huh? I push hard. Nothing. Harder still. Nothing. Really hard. Nah...

I take it out, clean the o-rings with the red rag, clean the end of the tube with q-tips, lube the o-rings with motor oil and finally, finally, it barely goes back in, and only one way.

Anyone experience this and if so, what was the fix?

TYVM!

Have not heard of that issue. Someone must have damaged the tube in the block.

Maybe your o-ring is rock hard.
