Gonna meet Alvin this saturday for a tune & efans. Im gonna change to a
160* thermastat before I see him. You guys have a trick or tips for changing it out. Im sure its gonna be easy. Ive done several on some oldschool muscle but first ls2 motor. Just noticed its upfront not ontop

I took the belts off to keep from getting any fluid on them. Other than that, there's not that much to it. Make sure you get ALL of the air out.

I just did one. I drilled 2 1/16" dia. holes in it to help get air out (seen on another thread/site)
The stupid lower hose clamp ear broke off when I went to squeeze it. other than that it was a piece of cake.
Just squeeze the upper and lower hoses to get the air out.

well i successfully change the thermastat. Took me longer cleaning up then it did changing it. Made just a little mess on floor. No problem getting all the air out either. I think the hardest part was getting my damn arm in there to get to them 2 bolts. Just to be sure I jacked from of truck up a little...
