The largest dia is 100.7mm. This is aprox 3mm after (inward toward car) the metal band holding the boot to axle stub.

Aprox 1” from spindle is 92.5mm. This is the metal axle stub (acorn shape) which makes it way to the boot....

I’ll post a pic of where i measured from...

Thank you Mitch,
The picture may help 3.6” is almost 91.5mm, and you had 92.5mm. Close!

Upper ball joint’s are pressed, dry assembly good.

Need a longer bolt, and some grade10 washers for the stand (to mount rotors on the hubs on the stand). Maybe a trip to Home Depot in the morning.

New GM upper ball joints and hubs
New Clarksville fasteners black braided brake lines,

yes, I have a red ZL1 caliper and a silver one. Couldn’t pass up the deal, nor decide which color calipers for my blacked out silver TBSS

Mitch808,

Is the half shaft conical bevel (RT hand arrow) to knuckle, is that more than 1” off the backside of the spindle?

looks like I need 26mm or ~17/16”

Got longer bolts for the stand. Taking wife to get first COVID vaccine, then will mount rotors to show setup.

Better progress on drivers side.
Waiting on some Castrol DOT4 to arrive Monday for brake bleed. The new Clarksville Fasteners stainless braided lines are great!

Looks like we’ll need spacers and longer lugs for that caliper, and will address the custom crossover tube as well.

Cool, we should be good for AWD

not sure if there’s any way to get a set of vernier calipers on the boot at the ~1” mark to add more confidence?

even at 1.25” as long as it’s less than 90mm, we should be good.

@JustnSS You're in luck, not in the next few hours, but today... I did pull my axle last night to replace my suspension arms and upper a-arm, and upper ball joint.. So I can measure properly the conical portion, 1" from the edge

Cool, thank you, lucky timing!

Measuring the 25-27mm from back of hub to front axle/CV is a bevel/angle, we want to make sure the high and low numbers are at/under 90mm, so there’s some air between the bracket and the axle, allowing for any free play, should wheel hub/bearing wear, tire combos, etc.

I’m betting we are fine, as you mentioned 70-80mm eyeball measurement.

Cool, thank you Mitch808!
Looks like AWD vehicles can also be fitted.

Do you think there would be any clearance issues with the caliper to the axle half shaft?

I think it would fit fine and any interference would be minimal that any angle grinder could fix...

im more interested in the machining that needs to be done on the upright and if it is clearancing that a grinder can fix or true flat plane needed. Which then i actually want to buy a mini mill for ( who doesnt love more tools?)

Yup, modifying the spindle/knuckle to make the recesses for the bracket, has been a discussion point with Scott and I.

Hey guys,
Bad news.
Need some input

Sorry, I was so excited getting the setup installed, I didn’t catch that the wheel/rim didn’t mount right.

Stock wheel/rim don’t fit with enough positive offset with the ZL1 caliper.

Question - Would you recommend wheel spacers, or convert the front hubs to 5 lug?
