Hey guys,
Seen lots of posts, and spent lots of time, trying to use the GM parts bin to source performance brakes.
Talked with Scott from BigBrakeUpgrade.com about building a kit using the CTS-V3 vs CTS-V2 brakes. Scott has already built kits for many other models.

Need some data to gauge interest -
  1. How many people are interested in better stopping power?
  2. Aesthetics - do you want bigger brakes for larger rims 20-26”. The CTS-V setup uses 14-15 inch rotor (2 piece rotor for front)
Calipers sourced by individual - factory caliper colors include black, red, yellow, gold, burgundy

I’m in for brakes that will fit 20” rims. I haven’t been able to gain any traction with any companies to make a set.

That’s an actual blazer (not trailblazer).

I’m trying to help Scott gauge interest on the trailblazer towards a kit. His business is brake adapter kits for vehicles. He’s got a bunch of vehicles under his belt. Check out his website @ bigbrakeupgrade.com

Includes parking brake backing plate as well.

I’m hoping for the 15+ inch rotors from the gen3 CTS-V for trailblazer 20 inch rims
I have a set of those sitting in the garage. My plan was to swap them onto my V2, and if that didn’t work onto another car. I’d love to see these on the TBSS.

Forgot the rear backing plate

14bolt rear would be similar to Scott’s rear backing plate kitw/parking brake ~$675

I can’t speak for Scott or prices on undeveloped solutions -

Figuring price range (accounting for some variables, and using an existing the bigbrakeupgrade kit for v2 CTS-V)

i total $3300 for gm parts for both axles
Potentially higher if charges sales tax
Depending on what you choose, you may need brake pads, banjo hose bolts, caliper pin hardware kits

Comparable options
- Baer kit is $4,000
Front $2100 for 2 piece rotors for front axle
Rear $1900 for 1 piece rotor kit
  • eBay has CTS-v2 kit for under $1300 for four (4) calipers
  • Advanced auto - reman calipers for CTS-V2 are $1600 plus tax, roughly same for new V3 parts

I would love a front brake kit. The rears are a lot of work and cost for minimal benefit. Let me know if they are made. I am following this thread.

I’m confused. Is he creating a kit to put the CTS-V front brakes on the TBSS or are you saying the Baer kit is the best option.
