OK went to go see some tires today, told the guy I wanted 275/45 R20. He told me they were taller then the 255/50 R20, I thought they were smaller?

He even brought some out for me to see, they look HUGE! Given theres were not mounted.

Question is are the 275 taller? I thought they were a tad smaller in height and wider then the stock 255? Also do they just look big because they are not mounted yet?

I'm sure they are slightly smaller, I used discount's tire size calculator and it said they were smaller.

I have them, they're a tad shorter, and a tad wider. thats about it. A lot more options too.

The Atturro's are taller than 255/50R20's, but they fit no problem... They are as tall as 265/50R20's which also fit on our wheels....

David is correct. I have the Aturro's and they are 30.4" tall. Most 275/45's are in the 29.9" range and the stock 255/50 is 30.1"

Sweet ill return on Tuesday and see what he has in that size. Thanx All! :coolthumb:

Definitely wanted wider but not taller.

So the part where they look taller unmounted on anything is because of that right? Once mounted they should look ok?

Or should I go with 275/40? Dont plan on lowering her for a while, so with the 40 will I get a bit of a lower stance? Without harm?

TBSS21, From a quick Google, it looks just like the Falken ST/Z-04's, which I had... The Falken's were an awesome tire... Quiet, Bidirectional, and awesome in ALL seasons.... Not bad on pricing... I think I paid maybe 500 shipped for all four... and easily got over 50k miles on em all.

Ok so I noticed the truck is wobbly if I swerve the steering wheel a bit while at freeway speeds. Seems like a tad loose up front. Checked the air in the tires and found it to be 41-46 varying all around so I dropped the fronts to 35 left the rears at 40. Helped a bit but still feels the same.

Spoke to the guy at the tire shop I went to, he said I went with a bigger sidewall tire so that’s why I feel it wobbly, this true? Said he would do a pre alignment to see if it was off before actually doing it.

Question is again I thought this size was a tad smaller and wider, is he not correct? And do I need an alignment? Or am I just feeling it like this because of the new tires, keep in mind I wore out the old RSA's to the point they looked like slicks but the steering felt more stiff.

Oh and the tire guy said the 255/50 were more of a low profile tire than what I put on there now?

:dunno:
