If you have auto climate control then you probably have a bad blower motor control module.

I second the blower motor control module. I just changed the one in my friends I-6 trailblazer for the same symptom. It stayed running when it was turned off one time and then never came on again. The module and motor are really easy to get to, theyre mounted on the bottom of the dash under the glove box. 3 screws in the motor, 2 screws in the module.

Yeah the control module, I just had to replace mine a few weeks back. Very simple to get to and change, it's located behind the glove box, pull the dash panel below the glove back and you'll see the module with the plug going to the blower motor, pull those two bolts and replace.

Some of the blower control modules have a special policy where GM will warranty if you have issues. Off the top of my head I can't remember which models but I know some of the Silverado's have it. Send my your VIN and I can check quick. Anyway I agree with the rest....Definitely a blower control module issue....
