Advice before purchase

I’ve owned the Silverado SS for 13 years and always wanted the TBSS. I found one that has a great price but has had 6 previous owners. There is nothing glaring from the carfax report and I did a FaceTime call and it sounded great, had no rust and looked clean overall. I’m obviously going to test drive it but, the amount of previous owners is a big red flag. The entire suspension was put back to OEM standards since one owner had lifted it. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I’m a car lover but admittedly don’t know that much.

It's a ~15 year old vehicle that guzzles premium gas in the sub 20mpg range. 6 owners wouldn't worrye that much, a lot of people get these cuz they're cool, underestimate how much they're gonna spend on gas, and move on to the next thing.

I'd be more worried that an owner had lifted it tbh.
What are the main things I should check on the test drive? Anything I should look or listen for as far as the engine and transmission go?
Drivetrain is going to have the same issues your Silverado will have. Other than the rust on the typical places (rockers, rear quarters, doors, etc…), it’s gonna be a 15 year old Chevy. I’m also curious as to what was the lift used for, but if put back together properly, I suppose it should be ok.

I'd ask how much oil it takes. If they say they don't know or 6 quarts, that's a red flag. The ls2 oil pickup is poorly placed and can starve it of oil without a relocation kit, baffle, new pan, or just running 7-7.5 qts of oil in it.

That's the big one, the rear airbags can go, stuff like that, but piling would be my big concern. If it's got 100k plus miles and or this owner has had it a while it wouldn't stop me from buying, as they clearly aren't beating on it to the point that it matters. But if they've had it for like a year and play dumb and it's cheap... I'd be very leery they don't know they damaged it and are dumping it.
On the test drive put it in "3" and do a Wide Open pull to feel how the 2nd gear to 3rd gear shift is. That will let you know how the 3-4 clutches are. Especially since it was lifted. If it was for 28" wheels or 33" Mud tires that is a lot of extra weight to turn for a stock transmission. Also, if it was used off-road check for undercarriage damage.
