I have American Racing long tubes, but with stock manifolds, shortys, or long tubes you still have a Y pipe that crosses underneath the trans tailhousing. With the 80e its longer, which is why you need a different crossmember. So with everything in place the crossmember is now where the Y pipe use to be.

Ok. When you said Magnaflow y pipe I assumed you were talking about the stock y pipe that came with the truck. That thing is waaay bigger than than the y pipe that comes with after market headers. I would say your gonna have to do some custom pipe work to make it work. I don’t have a 4L80 so I should prob shut up. Lol. Just trying to help. I’m sure someone will chime in with the answer.

Here’s mine, truck doesn’t have an 80 now but it was built to fit with an 80e. No pics installed.

It’s now completed as a customs tru dual x pipe setup and sounds excellent, glad I went with hooker vr304 stainless mufflers.

Forgot to mention I built this for ARH 1 7/8” headers

4l80 awd y pipe w/custom twin cats

I started with full tube headers with non cat y pipe, but in washington state I still needed cats. I chopped the y pipe and inserted two cats just behind the crossmember then installed a y and a new flex pipe altered the pin for the rubber mount and connected back to the stock two bolt flange. After splintering a hardened output shaft in the beefed up 4l70 I swapped in a 4l80, thankfully I did not need any mods to my modified y pipe when I installed the 07 4l80 (all the latest updates) and a transfercase from a 99 full size truck/suburban with push button shift and awd option. I have a pic but can not get it to load

So do you now have selectable 2wd <>4wd now with a 4l80? Time to go junk yard shopping if so.
