I know many have installed the 2nd and 4th gear servos like myself, but man o man the 2nd gear servo kicks like a mo-fo. Iam wondering if i should toss the stock one back in and take it from there. Everytime i gun it at signal the SS Chirps which i know many love on here, but i have to take my foot off gas in order for it not to chirp 2nd. lol.....

You could lower the shift pressures via software.

There is more to it then servo's to do it right. If you put the servo's in you also need the TransGo shift kit & some valve body mods along with better clutches. The second gear band is the first to go & if it was not checked & replaced with a better one the other mods probable just bought you a little time. I wish I would have took a pic of my 1-2 band & the glazed clutches. You need to do it right or you won't be much better off. They come with some cheap crap when it comes to band & clutches from the factory. The servo's, valve body mods & shift kit just make sure you have clamping pressure so stuff under power won't slip so much it burns up. Write what I say on the wall & go back in a few months so I won't have to say I told you so. You can just read the info over again & say damn!! To be real GM should have had a recall & fixed them the correct way. Trans are good they just went cheap on some of the main parts (servo's, 1-2 band and the clutches & low clamping pressure). LOL

Talked to Greg yesterday and told him my uses for the truck. Since I will not be going FI/Nitrous, at least not anytime soon, and the fact that my wife usually drives the truck given that is a 60mile RT for me to work, He does not feel I will need all that extensive work. He thinks the Corvette servo and the TC will be fine for my application. Perhaps when he gets in there and if he sees some other issues, then I will have other work done, but I don't want to go overboard and make the truck rough to drive for my wife.

Are you going to take it over to him for the upgrades?

How much is a new, better, 1-2 band? Who offers them? Im planning on doing the TC and servo's and might look into doing that as well.

Browse through that and you'll get an idea. I haven't done shit to my transmission yet cept for the converter and cooler. Oh and I raised the shift pressures (not the downshift yet)..

MT Pockets: What you could do is lower the low-torque areas of the 1-2 shift pressure.. That way it'll still give that nice bite on the 1-2 @ WOT.

I think the faribanks billet 2nd servo is the best, it applis much more pressure for holding due to it's massive surface area but it also reduces the harshness of 2nd apply, because it takes more fliud during the apply. This is a good thing because 2nd gear shifts tend to rip splines out of the input hub if they are too quick and hard. (been there a few times)

i work at a gm dealership i relearned the shifts points with the tech 2shifts smooth during normal driving now but firm when accelerating fast, if you could have someone reset the trans adaptives thatll help you out.
