Hi all, I am a recent owner of 2006 chevy trailblazer ss and have a 0420 code. Need to pass emissions and local mechanic is telling me I need new set of catalytic converters and over $2500 quote. Any advice and can this be fixed by the 02 sensor?

Most people would tell you to just turn it off in the tune with HPtuners as stated above. That’s what I would do.

I assume you’re not worried about your actual vehicle emissions or else you wouldn’t be driving a TBSS lol. You could buy a set of headers with a catted Y-pipe and technically “fix” the issue too. You’ll have a brand new set of cats, they just wouldn’t be factory cats. And it’s be less than $2500 too

I just need to pass this emissions and if a real problem does exist can get that fixed later

Depending on the state, if the light isn't on they don't check.

Yeah the light is on, arizona checks everything
