2WD is faster with less mechanical issues.

2wd FTW! Mine used to be AWD, now it's 2wd. Too many problems associated with AWD.

I agree with above 2 comments but AWD is easier to launch and will drive better in snow. Just my

I cant agree with Dustin. The 2wd and AWD are about the same from a performance standpoint until you begin to stack on SERIOUS mods.

At Nationals the stock trucks and bolt on mod trucks run about the same ET. The 2wd is lighter but the AWD has better traction from a dig.

Once you begin to make more power the 2WD is the way to go.

If you are in a location where you don't have to deal with snow I would look for 2WD. If you have snow or need traction then go AWD.

True, but I like my AWD. If you want a daily driver including all weather (snow) get AWD. I travel and come home to a driveway with 18" and drifts. No worries, just drive through it without shoveling.

I will agree with everyone(except Rich) here. I would make the decision based on climate. If I was you, I would go 2WD with some 295's out back for the 50% of the time the roads are wet.

I can't say I agree with this.. I have the same mods as my friends AWD truck (actually he has one or two more little things) mine is RWD his is AWD, both tuned by the same person on the Same day, same stall converters and everything. Mine runs the same times as his with stock 20's but he can cut a 1.9 60' and I can only manage a 2.1 60'. But when I throw my drag radials on I can cut a 1.9 60' like he does, but run faster. It's all in the tires on a 2wd. $.02

Up here, I wouldn't buy an suv that wasn't awd/4wd. If I wanted something fast, I would get 2wd, but not an suv. But my awd is pretty hard to beat at a light. My freind (ssman07) had a 2wd TBSS that ran 12.41 at the track with drag radials and skinnies and a smokey burnout. On the street with stockish tires, I could always beat him. I've raced a few stockish ls2 GTO's and beat them all from a dig, same for G8's.

Yea I don't think he is planning on driving around on drag radials! So your point about them being neck and neck until drag radials backs up what I just said!

You were talking about ET's... That tells me that you were referring to the track.

Mine is to wheel drive and pretty much stock and I have never once had an issue with traction at the strip. Small burnout Then floor it. Lol Most of the time on the street never have an issue attraction either, this thing sticks baby.

Just saying. In stock form wouldn't the 2wd be faster? Considering if its not having traction probs. Less weight.
