Default AWD vs 2WD

I'm looking at two TBSS, both are 07's. Around the same price/mileage. Only difference is drivetrain. I like AWD for winter but I also like to go to the track. Does the AWD in the TBSS withstand alot of power? Any problems?

Thanks

There are alot of people putting good power to the AWD, but you have to expect more failures with more moving parts. Go with what you NEED and not as much as what you want. A 2WD TBSS in snow would be crazy insane!

Yea this will definately be a DD. I'd like 12's out of it and snow compatibility. The only downside is no smokey burnouts, I guess that saves my wallet buying those 20'' tires.

The 2007 AWD is blue with 50k miles for 19k. Looks nice.

FWIW, I am less than impressed with the AWD in the snow. And yes....you can still get it sideways, snow, wet pavement, etc....

i wish i had just bought a 2wd instead of my awd, how well will my 20's really do in the snow anyway? i bought my awd with the intentions of having a fun all around vehicle i could also drive in semi-shitty weather. looking back i would have preferred a rwd so i could have more fun out of the 10 months a year it doesn't snow in maryland.

Id take a 2wd over AWD any day of the week, unless I lived somewhere waaay north with crazy snow for a good part of the year. I have an AWD with snow tires during the winter, and its an absolute breeze to get around. A 2wd with snow tires is probably better than any FWD car with an all season tire on it.

I was faced with the same decision. I ended up with AWD but I have a mustang to beat on at the track.

Last winter was the best winter I ever had with a vehicle. Seemed like I could go 80 in a foot of snow.

yea im with everyone else here... im glad i got my RWD.. i live in Ohio just outside the snowbelt near cleveland... no problems what so ever and even on bald tires last winter... just drive slowly and spin or sliding is minimal.. but as stated earlier.. wheather your AWD or RWD, if you punch it on wet pavement or snow etc.. you will lose traction and get it sideways...

Where at in Indiana? I got an AWD, but I'm starting to wish I'd bought RWD. We'll see if I change my tune if this winter is as bad as this summer has been.

Mine doubles as a family vehicle that my wife drives, so I am happy with AWD.

I haven't had a chance to drive it in the snow until I get back to pennsylvania, but in downpours I've tested its traction and I am very impressed. I've punched it full throttle in heavy rain and not one tire slipped. It was pretty amazing seeing it launch just as fast as dry.

I love AWD. If the truck only cam in RWD I'd get something else...

The traction has never let me down.

Snow tires in winter = unstoppable. I love it.

My RWD does great in the snow/ice. We get more ice here in the south than snow most of the time.

IDK What people mean less than impressed...I was really impressed by how easily my TBSS charged through 10" of snow last winter. It did better than some friends who have blazers with 16" or 17" and all season tires.
