Oklahoma speeder caught at 208 mph | Fox News

An Oklahoma man was arrested on Saturday after leading police on a 208 mph chase.

Nineteen-year-old Hector Fraire first tripped a radar gun doing 84 mph on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City, before speeding away as police tried to pull him over.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Fraire’s heavily modified 2011 Ford Mustang was then clocked doing 176 mph and 208 mph, and he tried to elude the chase vehicle by turning off his headlights and brake lights.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesman tells FoxNews.com that as the pursuing officer lost contact with the vehicle, he radioed ahead to any units in the area. A Canadian County Deputy sitting in a parking lot spotted the car and was able to intecept it. The driver then pulled over, dropped his keys out of the window, and was arrested and later charged with reckless driving and felony eluding.

Here are a couple other post from another forum:

I know the driver and the car and the arrest happened less than a mile from my house.
Short version is the police are full of shit. He never cleared 145 and the car is only capable of hitting about 170 with the gearing that is currently in it. Its got an intake, tune, exhaust, nitrous nothing special.
He wasn't trying to Elude the cops either he never saw them back there and the exit he took was the one he was taking regardless cause it heads to his house. Be pretty interesting to see how the prosecutor and the OHP handle the case when physics get brought into it. Im taking a guess that the whole thing gets dropped with zero media coverage.

===============================================

In Oklahoma thats basically exactly how it happens. At 84mph he has zero reason to run thats only 14 over on the turnpike and 99% of the time 14 and under gets written as a 1-10 by OHP. In Oklahoma 1-10mph does not go on your record at all anywhere. Its their cash cow. Everyone knows it so noone takes it to court and just pays the $164(oklahoma county) or $172 (Canadian County) and just goes on with life. My guess is they will not claim any speed to the DA just that the car isnt capable of those speeds. DA tells him ok dropped or ok we drop this to a 1-10 pay your fine and we are done.

I had to read this a couple times. Even at 200 mph, it'd take him ~5 hours to reach the Canadian border...

Idk if that's sarcasm or not but Canadian county is a county in part of OKC. If you're being sarcastic than please ignore lol

There's absolutely no way that car hit 208mph. My wife even text me the story and said there's no way right? Lol. But a guy did go to jail when he posted a video of himself going ~195 mph on the Kilpatrick a few years ago. There's parts of that highway that are sketchy as fuck.

I saw that also and LMFAO!! If that car hit 208mph I will trade my pos tbss in right now and go buy one..lol Even with twins on that car, which it does not have, it would be almost impossible for it to hit those speeds, especially on the turnpike...Getting a vette to do that is a pretty good undertaking.. much less a mustang.. What a bunch of shit!!!! Cops are delusional....

Only way a Mustang can go that fast is off a cliff. And aerodynamics might even prevent that!
