Default Torsen type front diff possibility

While digging around the web I found a possible Torsen style front diff on syty.net. From the AAM site it loos like The S series trucks use the same gear sets and carrier. Might be something to look into. Axle Results | American Axle & Manufacturing | Aftermarket OE Parts

I would be very interested in that... Then I would have Torsen style differentials at every differential.

there is currently (or was just recently) a group buy on the sy/ty site for a torsen diff. they had enough interest to get a company to start producing them.

there is also a guy on one of the forums that builds custom clutch style LSD differentials

Diff case = no

gear set and carrier = yes

the 7.2 was used in a lot of applications. S10s astro vans express vans and maybe a few others.

Thanks for posting this on here. We have verified that the carrier fits in the Trailblazer SS! We are currently procuring a front diff to show assembly and fitment. If you are interested you can call me or John 303-875-0856 or bullysyclone@msn.com

Looks good, so this would replace the interior piece with the spiders but keeps the pinion stuff of ours?

Correct. So while you have yours out to repair the crush washers spinning within the housing,

You can replace the carrier with a Torsen!!!

The current carrier is an open design which means that if one wheel slips all power goes to that wheel. With a torsen is a limited slip design.

Even the new raptor is using this type of front differential!

Here is the link to the custom built limited slip being produced for the GM 7.25 diff. I have not personally used this unit. but there are some build going on with it currently.

Personally i would rather run a torsen diff. i like the feel and performance of them better in a street car better than a clutch style unit.

edit*** hope a link to another forum is acceptable.

I agree that is why we had them made. It took an entire year but thanks to the SYTY guys we were able to get them made and now we can help benefit the TBSS as well!

How much is it? It still leaves the carrier side with few options. However, some have went with either a hardened intermediate shaft or hardened coupler. Which is the better route?

Then you have the carrier oil mod or grease pack the shit out of a new carrier mod. I still haven't figured out which method would be the better route. Has anyone else?
