Chat is up and running but still needs one "hack" worked on.

While it was down I upgraded to the new version. This required stripping the old version tables out of our main database so was a slow process to backup, etc.

Anyway, the chat is installed, the who is chatting hack is installed which shows up on bottom. The final hack moves the who is chatting to the top. That needs a little more work which I might do tonight.

Let me know if you have issues.

Not working for me.....
I used to be able to go to chat and it logged me in automatically....Now it asks for my User name and password.....but wont let me log on.

Even though I am entering the right info.
Also....the banner on the top for chat is blank....It used to say what was in that box...now it show nothing....

And I have to click the hand twice to get it to open up chat at all to get to the password screen.

Somethings definately not right still.

Not working for me.....

Everything you mentioned seems to work for me. I dont use the double click on the hand deal but that seemed to fire up chat. Its a different version so will be some changes.

I do see that the banner is blank. At this point I am not going to worry about that. Will see if it propogates when users use it.

It wont let me in there...so there is definatley somthing going on...
I click chat....It opens up...and immmediately asks me to enter my screen name....Which I do...then my password....which I do....CLick enter....

I have it shut off right now.

There is a glitch in chat that causes usergroups not to update correctly when I make changes.

Currently I am trying to cleanup the usergroup issues and then will tackle chat.

Until I know the fix, I cant turn it back on as its causing chaos with the rest of site.

I know it's been discussed before, but have you looked into changing to IRC based chat lately? I can get all the basic files (I may already have them myself) for a java chat page, plus I can get any help directed towards you that you may need in setting up the chat.

Just a thought, since we're apparently having issues with the FlashChat at the moment...

rich, i agree with phil on the irc system and if he can get you everything needed to set it up why not ... its a way more reliable system and probably won't have nearly the problems that flash chat experienced

I turned it back on for now. Its fine as long as I dont need to make usergroup changes.

Just be advised I might have to kill it and make a usergroup change but I can turn it back on right away. If you guys dont mind getting blow out of chat I will just use that method until the issue is resolved.

IRC is not in the cards right now. Might review it later.
