I finally hardwired the LC-1/XD-16. I had just hooked it up to a switch last week to check it out, but didn't want to get into the full-on wiring since I had to wait to do my Navi install this weekend, too.

Anywho, I had read on here and there wasn't any pics/explanation of where to tap for ignition turn-on.

I ran a fuse-tap from the battery and a ground from the fender bolt into the cab, installed the gauge in the dash, and wired it all up. What was lacking? The turn-on. I found the pink wire in the wire bundle that's under the steering column, slightly to the right.

As you can see, I just tapped into the pin and ran it to the relay so it could turn on and power up the LC1/XD-16.

***Look at the crap job the alarm installers at Best Buy did. Geez.***

Hopefully, this might help someone else.

Good job Rob.

I ended up running clear to the distribution block under the hood which powers the LC1 and WB heaters on O2. Wasn't sure how much current heaters took but wasnt going to try it on a 2 amp circuit.

Today I finally hooked up the cutout switch (hello neighbors) and tied into same spot.

Its not easy finding BATT and ACC under the dash.

So I have anough power for the juice when I hook it up.

:cheers1:

Most of the mess is my alarm install...thanks Best Buy! :wtf:

Rich, yeah, my actual power is coming from the battery, basically. I have a 30A relay, but it's fused to 10A under the hood. The ignition is just my relay trigger.

This DID cause me to break down ( I dropped about $8k on the forged/cammed/headered motor, but didn't want to drop $6.99 on these?) and replace my busted-ass multimeter leads. The needle-tip probes had broken off years ago, and I was just using the wire inside the probe wires, with a soldered tip. I am now the proud owner of two shiny new probes. 1 black, 1 red.:yay2:
