Forged axles are available as well as different carriers to make them even stronger.

The only issue that I've had was collapsing the crush sleeve @ the strip. A good, cheap, upgrade would be to make a solid spacer, to replace the crush sleeve. They are available for some axles, but I couldn't locate any for the 9.5" axle, doing a quick online search at the time I wanted one.

I beat on a slightly larger full float 14 bolt with 538s and a spool. I don't expect any issues out of it or the TBSS 14 bolt

Mine did fine until we started leaving on the transbrake. Then it started breaking posi units. Went to a detroit locker and broke it first pass. Welded it up solid and then started breaking axles every 3rd pass. I would say you are fine as long as you arent using a transbrake. Moser M9 is in it now with 40spline axles!

Try these and see if they fit the bill for you. Some of these say they are forged and the manufacture can make them any bolt pattern if you call them. I have custom moser axles but I don't think there blanks are long enough to make a c clip axle. That said you can try strange, mark Williams and there are many others that can make you custom axles. But try these first and see if they are strong enough for you, but the factory axle is pretty strong like it is.

My axles from moser keep the factory tone ring for the speed sensors. If you want a custom axle Made from any of the companies that make them all you need to do is provide them the measurements or ship them your axle to copy. As long as their blank is long enough they will not have any issues making them.

We work with a company to have our forged axles built for the TBSS and SSR platforms. We had to have a few things changed from the standard axles due to the speed sensors. The axles use a reluctor wheel on the outer bearing. We had to have the diameter of the axles increased so the stock bearing with reluctor wheel would work.

We also have the outers set up to be both hub and lug centric to work with all the stock and aftermarket wheels out there.

Give me a call if you want me to get a set for you. They are $500.00 shipped in the Cont US.

Joe
